Mountain Medical opens corporate HQ and data
center to offer greater data security to CYRAMED Electronic Health Records customers
Miami, Florida. Mountain Medical Technologies, Inc. announced
that it has opened a corporate HQ and data center in response to the increased
concern of medical data security brought about by the recent hurricane season.
The office, based in Palmetto Bay, Florida has been strategically
selected for its fortress-like construction which is impervious to hurricane or
flood. The new facility contains a data center for remote access and backup capabilities
for CYRAMED users to offer a further level of security and backup protection.
It will also be used as a training center for new users. The lower offices are
25 feet above sea level, with the data center residing on the 3rd floor. Fire
detection and alarm systems have been employed, along with 24/7 manned security.
Martin Bailey, VP Marketing of Mountain Medical Technologies,
Inc. added; “We’ve heard some real horror stories relating to patients
records – in extreme cases charts and documents have been littered across
town with sensitive material ending up in people’s back yards. Even before
Hurricane Wilma hit we saw a marked increase in interest, probably sparked by
the previous disaster in New Orleans. Our new center will allow practices to operate
safe in the knowledge that even in the event of a catastrophic disaster affecting
their offices their sensitive data will be safe and secure.”
